This research study focuses on the language used for “Disability Services” at Salem State University. Whether the office name and mission statement are equitable for the group of students that would use these services. Questions are raised about inclusion barriers and stigma attached to the name and terminology used. This research includes a sample evaluation of institutions that have recently changed the language from “Disability Services” to “Accessibility Services”. Examining the equities involving the language used and stigmatization of students with disabilities and the impact on college campuses including Salem State University.

This executive summary report explores the available services offered by “Disability Services” at Salem State University. Incorporating the mission statement by the office, goals to achieve, learning outcomes that measure the degree of learning taking place, and the assessment methods used will take the data and use it to modify or improve the program that is currently taking place.

Involvement | Salem State University Residence Hall Association - Events
Past programs I have coordinated range from on-campus events such as Welcome to Campus Carnivals to one of the most popular college events, BINGO NIGHT! They also included off-campus events such as trips to Sky Zone and movie trips! In addition, they show my participation in student orientations, accepted student days, team building, and the annual Salem Haunted Happenings parade.
